Demonstrated compatibility of Emanant™ Molecular Interaction Analyzer with lipids

Mainline Scientific announces demonstrated compatibility of our Emanant Molecular Interaction Analyzer with lipids.  Our discussions with scientists indicate a need for a reliable platform compatible with lipid-centered research.  Our work has shown the capability to adsorb supported lipid bilayers onto the surface of our proprietary sample cell.  This is a result of the hydrophilic technology used within our system.  Once the lipid bilayer is assembled onto the prisms—or even during bilayer formation, depending on the method used—additional compounds can be introduced to the lipid bilayer to test for interactions.

Some researchers have found existing platforms to be cost prohibitive.  The Emanant Molecular Interaction Analyzer is designed to be a cost-effective tool built with robustness and ease of use as key considerations.  Being that lipids are so prevalent and key within the body, they are an important research area with implications in disease and conditions affecting all parts of the body.  It should be an enabler for labs needing such capabilities but for which the market has not yet provided a viable solution.
